The Secret Is Out, SCORE Can Help Your Small Business
SCORE (Service Corps Of Retired Executives) is a spin-off organization of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). SCORE provides numerous services geared towards new and current small businesses.
How SCORE works:
SCORE, mentors to America’s small business, is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small business start, grow and succeed nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the SBA.
SCORE is headquartered in Herndon, VA and Washington, DC and has 364 chapters throughout the United States and its territories, with over 13,000 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business mentors. SCORE was founded in 1964.
What SCORE can offer a small business owner:
SCORE provides many excellent resources to small business owners, including: one-on-one mentoring and workshops on various business-related topics. The one-on-one mentoring is provided FREE, to anyone looking for assistance in starting or operating a small business. This mentoring can be either in-person or online.
Additionally, SCORE provides many workshops on topics a small business owner may face, such as finances, marketing or developing a business plan. Some workshops are free while others require a nominal charge. In either event, the workshops provide valuable information from experienced former business owners on how to successfully run a small business.
SCORE in Nevada:
SCORE has two main chapters in Nevada, the Las Vegas chapter and the Reno chapter. If you are a small business owner or are thinking about starting a small business, call your local SCORE office and schedule a free mentoring session. I’ve had many clients who have received excellent mentoring from SCORE. And best of all, the mentoring sessions are FREE!
